ABOUT US

Karin Sanders Fine Art is a gallery and consulting agency defined by its scholarly expertise, market savvy and effort to meet the varied art needs of its clients. Founded by art historian and dealer Karin Sanders, KSFA represents and exhibits emerging and mature artists from the U.S., Europe and Asia. Since 1990, Karin Sanders has worked closely with a high profile clientele, which has included private collectors, corporations and international designers.

Ms. Sanders began her career as a fine arts agent in 1990 working with artists on Long Island's east end. In the mid 1990's, she lived and worked in Europe. Upon returning to the U.S., she worked as assistant to art dealer Sondra Preston and later developed her own corporate and private clientele. Working for over 10 years in New York, she has secured the sales and acquisitions of works by artists such as Agnes Martin, Julian Schnabel, Sol LeWitt, Jean Michel Basquiat, and many other important twentieth century painters and sculptors. She is equally eager to be working with select emerging artists as well as mid and advanced career contemporary artists. Karin Sanders has now returned to the east end in the hope of contributing to the growing international scope of the Hamptons' art scene. She presently works out of New York City and Sag Harbor.

Ms. Sanders' knowledge of a vast international art market is further supplemented by a scholarly expertise in Fine Art. Graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in Art History from Marymount College, she presently continues work on a Ph.D at the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University. She has studied under art historian and Curator of the Guggenheim Robert Rosenblum and art historian and archaeologist Günther Kopcke. Karin is a specialist in Greek antiquities as well as 19th & 20th century American and European painting and sculpture. She is Adjunct Professor of Art History at Marymount College in Manhattan, and in 2003 developed the online scholarly research mission, the Aspasia Project, which is used by students, professors and art professionals.

Karin Sanders works to bring artists from various backgrounds and regions to the collector, enthusiast and investor. It is the mission of the entire staff at KSFA to help collectors find the art that is best suited to their individual budget and art sensibilities.

Karin is available by appointment in both Manhattan and the Hamptons for consulting as well as to arrange viewings of all our represented artists.
