Day Bowman was born in west Somerset, England spending her formative years by the sea before moving to Exeter at the age of ten. She had a short-lived career in advertising and public relations, but ultimately settling on training as a fine artist. Bowman studied at the Exeter College of Art and the Chelsea School of Art.

The artist's Compass Series, has recently completed a successful tour of the United Kingdom.
